Affordable Housing Finance Readers’ Choice Awards FAQs
Q: What is the deadline for submitting entries?
The deadline to submit is April 14, 2025, by 11:59 PM EST.
Q: Is there an application fee?
No. It's still free.
Q: Can I save my form and continue it later?
Yes. Scroll to the bottom of your form and hit SAVE before exiting the application. Once you click the SAVE AND FINALIZE button, however, you will have submitted your application and will be unable to make any further changes.
Q: Can I print out my form once I’ve submitted it?
Yes! Log in to your account. From your dashboard, go to My Applications - Complete. You will be able to print and/or view your completed form there.
Q: Will I get emails confirming my submission?
Yes. If you have not received those emails, please check your spam/junk folder. Be sure to add digitalawards@zondahome.com to your safe senders list.
Q: Does a nominated project have to be financed with low-income housing tax credits?
No. There is no restriction on the funding sources used for a project.
Q: Is there a limit on what may be submitted in an application?
No. There is no limit when answering the questions in the nomination form. The nomination form, a detailed list of the project’s sources and uses of funds, and photos or renderings are the minimum of what should be submitted. Applicants are not required to but may include press clippings, market study summaries, historical background, letters of support, etc. We recommend you complete your answers thoroughly and make your nomination as complete as possible.
Q: May an application be sent by e-mail?
No. All entries must be submitted through the awards web site, www.ahfawards.com.
Q: May I nominate more than one project?
Yes, as long as the developments meet the criteria of having been completed in 2024 or will be completed in 2025. By completion, we mean receiving a certificate of occupancy.
Q: May I nominate a development that was nominated last year?
Yes, as long it was not a finalist. Prior finalists are NOT eligible.
Q: My project can compete in more than one category, which should I choose?
It’s a tough choice, we know. Try to pick the category that best captures the spirit of your development. For example, is it unique because it is providing permanent supportive housing or is it notable because it is in a rural community that’s had little affordable housing?
If judges believe your development competes better in another category, they will move your entry into that category without penalty.
Q: When will the AHF Award winners be announced?
We will announce the finalists in our June/July 2025 issue. Newsletter and magazine subscribers will then vote for their favorite projects. Winners will be announced in September and honored at AHF Live, Nov. 17-19, 2025, in Chicago.
Q: Who should I contact for more information?
Donna Kimura, deputy editor, at dkimura@zondahome.com or (925) 671-7118.
